B’nai B’rith Denver presents 120 books to McMeen Third Graders
B’nai B’rith Denver’s members will present approximately 120 books to all 3rd Graders at McMeen Elementary School on May 5, 2017 as a part of its Adopt-a-School program. The books are donated by B’nai B’rith, its members, and friends, in support of the program that started in 2014. Every third grader will be able to select a book to take home. The remaining books will be donated to the school library or saved for next year’s third graders.
As part of its mission of community service, B’nai B’rith has committed to an ongoing relationship with the Third Grade classes at McMeen Elementary in hopes to provide books for every third grader and third grade classroom. This spring book drive is only the first part of its commitment. This summer and fall B’nai B’rith will be collecting funds for the school to purchase books for its library and individual classrooms. We also collect lightly used books to go home with students and provide tutoring services throughout the school year.
